Crowdsourcing Synergies: clickworker Takes Over bitworxx

November 26, 2013

clickworker, Europe’s leading provider of crowdsourcing solutions, is changing its company name to clickworker GmbH and acquires bitworxx GmbH. bitworxx specializes in preparing product data for online shops and mail-order companies.

As of 11/13/2013, the German company humangrid GmbH, known as clickworker.com, was renamed clickworker GmbH. The company was founded in 2005, and provides crowdsourcing solutions and services. clickworker is known in the market for its international workforce (crowd) of nearly 500,000 registered freelancers and a broad portfolio of offerings for content creation and data research. Today, the company is one of the market leaders in its industry.
bitworxx provides specialized e-commerce solutions for data extraction and data validation. Unlike clickworker, bitworxx uses dedicated business partners for handling these tasks. Primarily, these include call centers and business-process outsourcing service providers.
By acquiring bitworxx, clickworker is expanding its scope of services and gearing up its crowd for new crowdsourced solutions.

In addition to expanding the crowd, the merger provides synergies in the area of technical know-how and service portfolios. The combined team will help to take www.clickworker.com to the next level, expanding and improving our solution offerings for our customers.
In addition, bitworxx will contribute its “bitProducts” software solution. Using bitProducts, E-commerce companies can send their product data to clickworker and have it processed seamlessly. Categorizing products, extracting filter attributes and creating individual description of a product becomes even simpler.

“The bitworxx solutions perfectly complement our portfolio. Our approaches are often very different, but that opens up new ways to advance our solutions and quality for the benefit of our clients. Combining our own crowd with bitworxx’ partner network, allows us to address new business challenges of our clients. It just made sense to combine these strengths,” says Christian Rozsenich, Managing Director of clickworker GmbH.
